Details
Maternity Photography Scheduling:
The best time for maternity portraits is around week 30-35. The belly has a nice round shape during this timeframe and the mum-to-be still feels comfortable enough for a portrait session. Make sure to book your session early in your pregnancy ( around 12 weeks mark ) to ensure I have availability.
Maternity Photography Wardrobe:
My studio provides a beautiful selection of maternity gowns, form-fitting dresses, and lace robes. Professional hair and makeup is recommended for your portrait session, so you can sit back and relax before your maternity session begins.
The style of the shoot is entirely up to you. You can have a casual, intimate or completely glamorous shoot in a gorgeous maternity gown. Once you are booked in for your session, I will arrange a time to discuss the styling so I can provide you with your perfect pregnancy photos! Maternity Photography Location:
Maternity photoshoots can be done in a range of outdoor locations on the Sunshine Coast or in my studio in Twin Waters. If you have a particular area in mind or a favourite spot I will be happy to accommodate the location. Subject to a travelling fee if outside of my local area.
I understand how self conscious you can be at this time with your pregnant body growing daily, ‘things’ being pushed in all directions and how intimidating it can be to have a big black camera pointed at you!
My job as an expert, is to help you feel at ease, to help you relax and guide you into positions most flattering to be photographed. I am skilled in the art of posing, and always get your best angle.
Preparing For Your Maternity Photo Session
Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope everything is going smoothly & if you need any information on maternity services around the Sunshine Coast, check out this guide. If you haven't already, consider booking in a maternity photoshoot via my contact form: Book Sunshine Coast Maternity Photographer. If you'd like a newborn photoshoots too, consider booking a combined package for a 10% discount.
Once you've made your booking I will schedule a call do discuss styling & location, or if you prefer we can arrange everything via email. Consider what you would like to wear, where you would like the photoshoot to be held, and if you would like anyone else to be part of the session.
On the day of your maternity photo-session
I do recommend my maternity clients to have their hair & makeup professionally done. If you like, I can arrange this at the time of your booking for a discounted rate with my preferred stylists . Depending on which hair & makeup artist is booked, you can either have this done at the salon, at my studio, at your home, or your holiday accommodation (if you are on the Sunshine Coast holiday). Once hair and make up is done, we will head to the arranged location. I aim for the outdoor photographs to be taken around sunset or sunrise. The session will take approximately 2 hours.
After your maternity photo-session
Once your professional Sunshine Coast maternity photoshoot is complete, it will take around 2 weeks to produce the digital images.
Once the digital images are ready, I will contact you to arrange an in person viewing in my Twin Waters based photo studio, so that we can go through your gallery and allow you to choose the package & wall art you would like.
If you are not local to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, we can do the viewing via an online gallery. All the Art Work will take between 4 to 6 weeks to be delivered to my studio, or your home address.
Newborn Photography Details
PREPARING FOR A NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
Professional newborn photoshoots are best taken between 5 - 14 days old, so its best if you book at least a couple of months before then. I will book you in on an approximate date according to your babies due date. Once baby is born please let me know within a few days so I can schedule an exact date.Most of my newborn photoshoots take place in my studio in Twin Waters, Sunshine Coast. I also work as a mobile baby photographer & can travel to your home on the Sunshine Coast with my equipment if baby or mother are too unwell to travel. Note there is an extra fee for my mobile newborn photography service.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT DAY?
I try to plan my newborn photoshoots to start in the morning at around 9-10 am.
The shoot will take approximately 3-4 hours. This allows me to work in a relaxed manner, taking my time & ensuring the baby is calm and relaxed. Please make sure you bring anything you may need when usually going out with your baby - spare nappies & wipes, change of clothing, formula and pacifiers . If you would like sibling photos in the photos, it's best to ensure they have a good night's sleep before the photoshoot. I also offer to include parents in the photos and if you would like to take up this option take into account dress wear / hair styling / make up. I would suggest a choice of light makeup for the photoshoot.
AFTER YOUR NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
The photographs from your newborn photoshoot will be ready in about 4 weeks. I will contact you to arrange an in person viewing in my studio in Twin Waters, so you can pick the photographs you would like to purchase. You can also decide on any wall art or albums you would like. For this reason it's a good idea to have a look around your house beforehand to work out which wall you make want to have the photos displayed on. If you are not local to the Sunshine Coast or Queensland, then alternative arrangements can be made.
